Feb 14, 5:30pm: The new 6th bison is also very old, but with un-worn teeth.
6pm: Two men on horseback are exiting Williamstown through the South gate, but then head West off of the road and into the wilderness.
6:15pm: Mary doesn’t seem to recognize the investigators, and they hear shuffling noises and a woman’s voice saying “they have to be here somewhere”. Angus hides the lizard man body in Elizabeth’s home; Nikoli heads around to the back of the home, while Annie, Douglas, and Elmer go inside. Nikoli sees, through the window, Miss Stephanie an Ellie searching the room.
6:30pm: Mary is obviously not herself, being easily tricked into thinking that Angus’ name is Michael. She takes Elmer’s and Annie’s blood, but when confronted with taking a sample of her own blood accidentally breaks the needle while cleaning it off.
6:45pm: Nikoli and Angus enter Mary’s house. Angus starts questioning Mary as to whether she is feeling okay, near to the point of accusation. Douglas uses a spell to read her thoughts: They should be leaving tomorrow, I thought. But I think they might suspect something. I may have to tell the others and we may have to replace them, as well." “What disease could it have been. Certainly not the small pox.”
6:45pm: Nikoli goes to the bedroom where he finds it has also been searched, but the searches missed the false bottom on the dresser drawer. Inside, beside the old records and wrapped in a handkerchief, he finds 3 vials of blood marked Victor, Stephanie, and Elizabeth.
7pm: The investigators leave Mary’s, take a blood sample from the lizard man, and head off in different directions.
7:15pm: Douglas, Annie, Nikoli, and Edison head to the Blacksmith to warn him about Mary’s behavior. They first ask questions to verify his credibility. He definitely seems to be himself, and seems to test Douglas’ and Annie’s credibility, as well. When he hears that Mary is not acting like herself, he becomes very concerned and warns them to “be very careful. There’s something strange going on here.”
7:15: In the library, Elmer talks to Gretel regarding Delaware Indian translation books. She says they don’t have such books, but little Johnny was studying the language when he was 10 years old. She caught him writing in one of the Readers and scolded him. Elmer finds the book, which contains the Delaware Indian symbols corresponding to the Roman alphabet characters.
7:15pm: In the library, Angus finds Frank Goodfield reading several books: The Republic I, The Holy Bible, The Book of Mormon, The Rosicrucian Reformation. Frank engages him in a philosophical discussion, asking: “have your people always surrounded themselves with such bitter rivalry, conflict, and cruelty? Why do some kill and steal, when your teachings say it is wrong? Is there a sickness?”
7:30pm: Annie tests the blood samples and finds that they are all off: the lizard man, Stephanie, Ellie, and Victor.
7:30pm: In the library, Douglas looks at the books left behind by the Russian stranger – Nikolas. Inside he sees similar drawings as those in the cave. In the back of one he finds hand drawn and labeled images of the exact drawings in the caves: transistor, amplifier, powered amplifier, AC and DC current, and a complicated diagram labeled “the coil”.
