Feb 17 3:10 pm: Elmer places his fingers on the black stone pad to enter the combination. The large stone slab slides into the rock, revealing a staircase leading down to an area lit from within by a spooky bluish glow. The stairs lead down to a corridor with 4-way intersection.
Directly before them is a 30′ × 30′ room. On the left wall are two strange oven-like devices and controls on the left wall. One device is a laser-based disintegration/recycling mechanism; the other they cannot figure out how to operate. Along the right wall is a long table with various pieces of clothing, and large stacks of US Silver Certificate currency: $1, $2, $5, and $10 denominations.
3:30 pm: The path to the left leads to a huge 50′ × 500′ room, which contains 4 rows of 100 glass covered tanks that hold the bison. 2 rows of tall columns every 50’ (18 in all) support the ceiling. Each tank is connected with tubes that run into conduits that run along the wall and then into the floor after every 5 rows. Inside the tub, small tubes run from the larger tubes and into the creatures, which float in a strange, thick liquid. Near the back of the chamber is where townsfolk will be found in place of the bison. On the side of each tub is a small metal box with three buttons which will open and close the glass lid (slides to the left and down), or dump the contents to someplace below.
3:45 pm: 4 serpent people began approaching down the hallway from the right path, and the investigators hid – badly! Elmer chose to close himself within one of the tanks, and it immediately began filling with water and threatening to drown him. The creatures did not understand English, but one did immediately act friendly towards Annie, almost as if he knew her. When Douglas rescued Elmer from the tank, Elmer began speaking to them in Lenape. The one near Annie explained that they were Servants of Anu, and were sworn to the Protector. They were born servants because they are strong and have great constitution, and there is great honor in caring for the other Anu and this place while they slept. They described the social structure as:
- Anu-Ki: servants of Anu
- Anu-Ni: children
- Anu-Ku: adults
- Anu-Na: elders
- Anu-Na-Ku: esteemed elders and ‘Voice of Anu’
4:00 pm: The Anu-Ki leads the investigators to where the elders slept.
- Down the right corridor, through another huge 50′ × 500′ room that held roughly 500 or more sleeping Anu-Ku in chambers under the flooring, visible through the translucent coverings.
- Down a stairwell that lead to a huge cavern of indiscernible size with 30’ tall ceilings, stalactite/stalagmite formations, and filled with every manner of fungus, mold, and crustaceans.
- Down another stairwell and past rows (10 on each side) of 40′ × 60′ rooms sealed with a glass outer wall, and housing masses of sleeping Anu of various sizes (children, adolescents, etc.)
- Down another stairwell to the 100′ × 100′ grand chamber with smoothly polished walls, floor, and ceiling. The side walls contain standing chambers containing aged Anu wearing black robes. Beyond these, at the far corner is a stairwell up to a balcony. Two statues stand beside the stairwell:
-- one holds a large opened book in one hand; the other hand is bent at the elbow with the index finger pointing upwards
-- one holds a large spear that has been busted in half, and an almost ape-looking human child in the other
On the balcony, overlooking the great expanse of the chamber, are three standing chambers with aged Anu inside: the outer one wear light gray robes, the center one wears a white robe (the Grand Master and Voice of Anu).
4:15 pm: After some tough questioning by the Grand Master, Kazune Haxetiquol, some failed attempts to fast-talk and sugar-coat the truth, and finally a blunt and truthful admittance that the Europeans had indeed agreed to a treaty, then slaughtered all the bison, followed by the slaughter of the Natives and theft of their land, the Grand Master asks what the Protector is doing. The Anu-Ki answers:
“He became angry, and awoke 3 others. Then, they began replacing the White skinned townsfolk. He instructed them to put them in the chambers because they would help to provide more power – but it is minimal. Then he said, when all the chambers are full, they would just kill the remaining white skinned ones. And, once they had taken over the town, they would spread out and kill every white skinned one on the land.”
The Grand Master responded: “In doing what he does. I fear he has fallen from “the way”. If he has become a follower of Tsathoggua, he will not stop. You must appeal to The Almighty Creator. If he perceives your truth, he may know how to help you with the Protector. But if he perceives deception, you will surely suffer a horrible death.” The Grand Master pressed a secret panel inside his resting chamber to reveal a stairwell leading down.
4:30 pm: Douglas and Elmer headed down while the others stayed above. The stairwell led to a 100′ × 100′ circular chamber with a 30’ circular pool in the center. As they approached the pool, they could see it contained a purplish-black liquid. The water will begin to ripple, then boil, then begin to spill out over the edges as something rose from beneath. As the water hit the floor, it congealed and formed into countless black snakes wriggling and writhing at their feet, and threatening to climb up their legs. Then, a large 15’ wide scaled head on a long neck slowly emerged from beneath the surface of the liquid.
The head was scaled, with large, black, oval eyes, and a mouth from ear to ear full of sharp fangs. Inside their heads, they heard a deeply ominous and challenging voice: “Why have you disturbed the great cycle of existence. Already, ripples threaten the framework of all physical things!”
