Previously Secret Information – background information, time lines, and much, much more.
Epilogues – a general epilogue, along with the individual character epilogues.
Feb 17, 4:30pm: Douglas and Elmer interact with H’yigg well, and he explains that the power is waning – if it continues, not only will the Anu be awakened early, but “the framework itself will fail, the shield will falter, and the sun’s rays will scorch the earth and all living things upon it bringing a great extinction long before the endo of this fifth world is due.” They explain that they can bring cattle for now, and will work to rebuild the bison herds.
4:45pm: H’yigg asks the Grand Master to awaken Tamarof to help validate their claims against the Protector.
5:15pm: On their way out, they awaken the Protector in Succession to go with them. He explains that he can only take the title of Protector if the Protector is killed or has been illegitimized.
5:30pm: They ask the Anu-Ki to take a note and money to Dr. Miller at the Indian Reservation in order to buy cattle to bring back to the rock. Angus asks for a “rice thingee” to be implanted in his arm.
6:45pm: The investigators head to the library to find Frank. He tells them of his plan to combat this using “what your people call politics and law”. He agrees to round up the Anu for a meeting at the school, and will send the Sheriff and Deputies last, but he will be immediately leaving to do more study – beginning in Easton. Douglas gives him his and Annie’s business card so he can contact them, and he says that he will always answer to the name Frank Goodfield, even though he will be going by a different name.
7:00pm: In the school house, the investigators move the desks to along the walls and Elmer writes the 10 commandments of H’yigg on the chalkboard. Meanwhile, Nikoli attempts to contact the ghost girl, Samantha. Instead, he summons up the ghost of a previous snippetty and angry teacher. As he works towards dismissing her, the room begins to fill with townsfolk.
7:15pm: The Sheriff and Deputies enter, and the Sheriff is quite angry. “What is this all about!” Elmer immediately attacks his actions, and as the Sheriff tries to deny, the Anu-Ku-Na Tamarof respectfully states who is telling truths (the investigators) and who is telling lies (the Sheriff).
Elmer directly asks the Sheriff if he follows the way of H’yigg, or Tsathoggua. The Sheriff tries to defer, but becomes trapped in his own words. He becomes flustered, and states that he has spoken to the Native Elders and has their support. Elmer reveals the necklace of Tammamend and refutes his claims.
The Sheriff rebuts: “Tammamend is old and weak. He is a fool. I have the support of the Great Spirit Shaman, Choktaw, Charging Bear.” He pulls out a bear paw and summons Choktaw.
7:25pm: Samantha appears to Nikoli, scolding him for ringing the bell. “It’s too early for school. What’s going on here? Why are all of these … these things here?”
7:30pm: Choktaw addresses the crowd: “Let me speak! The white-skinned devils have murdered our people and stolen our lands. They break their treaties as easily as they breathe air. These ones (pointing to Nikoli, Elmer, Angus) I challenged to a fair fight, all of them against me alone. And this one (pointing spear at Angus) has power that I did not know.”
As he walks away from the Sheriff and towards Angus, he continues.
“I know now why you do the things you have done. Old ways of thinking must sometimes be challenged by those wise enough to see the truth. I am a Lenape Elder, and I am willing to forgive your past discretions. Do you accept?
Angus says: "In the spirit of H’yigg, I accept your apology " as he takes his hand. At that instant, a portal appears between them and sucks them both in. Nikoli tells Samantha that he needs her help, and the two of them run across the room and leap into the portal.
7:35pm: The Sheriff becomes even more aggressive and, when Elmer insists that he answer whether he follows H’yigg or Tsothoggua, attempts to stun him. Luckily, the Anu-Ku-Na releases an EMP that disables the device. The Sheriff accosts him, and the crowd, asking if they believe “the white-skinned liars” over him. Whether they dare challenge his authority. After a few moments, Elmer steps forward. The Sheriff scoffs, exclaiming that it would be an insult to fight an old man. Douglas steps forward to take the challenge.
7:40pm: Angus finds himself in another world, with yellow-orange snow topped mountains, phosphorescent green sky, and large bright red sun. Nikoli finds himself in the same world, with a more corporeal looking Samantha beside him. After a few moments, three images of Choktaw in bear form emerge from the tree line and charge Angus. He tries to block, but one strikes him. Nikoli asks Samantha if she can help, and she explains that “the one on the right is the real one. The others you can see right through. Don’t you see that?” Before Nikoli has a chance to tell Angus, Angus turns and fires the stun gun from his wrist, knocking Choktaw unconscious. The world fades, and they find themselves in an old shack with Choktaw as an old Indian man unconscious at their feet. Angus lifts Choktaw onto the bed, while Elmer makes borscht.
7:40pm: Douglas and the Sheriff battle for several minutes. The Sheriff manages to land one solid punch, but other than that it seems to be a complete standoff. Elmer begins working his way through the crowd, building descent against the Protector and his actions, and the fact that he cannot dispatch a weak human. Finally, Elmer calls out: “this challenge is over. You have proven yourself to be a liar, to have fallen from the way of H’yigg, and cannot even defeat a human in single combat.”
The Protector in Succession responds loudly: “This elder speaks wisely.” The Anu-Ku-Na adds, “and truthfully.” The Sheriff becomes irate, transforms into Anu form, and strikes at Douglas with his claws.
Annie sicks Edison on the Protector and moves in behind him to knock him unconscious. Unfortunately, her strike misses as the Protector moves to avoid Edison. Fortunately, his attack upon Douglas misses as a result.
The Protector in Succession shouts: “Enough! This combat is over, Anu-Ku-Ni”, calling him a childish adult. “Seize him and take him to the rock, where we can help and heal him.”
The Protector responds: “I would rather die than live under the weak ways of H’yigg!” and rips his own throat out. As he does this, Douglas realizes that serpent people could be hiding anywhere, disguised as people he already knows, or even worse, watching and waiting for the right moment to replace those he knows. He begins to question the authenticity of his business associates, and fellow investigators.
9pm: Choktaw awakens, he is confused why Angus did not kill him. Angus tries to convert him to return to the ways of H’yigg, offering his gun with a single bullet in case Choktaw still wishes to kill him. Choktaw is tough, but seems to take this to heart and leaves to talk with Tammamend. Angus and Nikoli leave the shack, which they have learned is Choktaw’s home in the Stout’s Valley Reservation, and head back to Williamstown.
