Letter from Simon to Cynthia

Dear Cynthia,

I love you more than the flowers love the sun. And you are more beutiful than any flower I have ever seen. I want to merry you, but I cannot ask your father for permision until I have made more money. We have been together a long time and I could not live if you left me. Please take this locket as a promise from me that I will ask you to merry me soon. It was my mother’s, so you know that I am not lying. I drew this picture of you to put inside. I hope you like it. When I have earned enuf to provide for you, I will replace it with a gold ring. But you can also keep the locket if you want.

With love,
