Sleepy Little Township
The Women's Emporium
Owner: Nellie (37)
At first appearance, the shop is primarily simple long dresses (similar to what Miss Colton The School teacher wears). However, further in are a collection of slender shaped flaring skirts with standing collar and a few rear bustle dresses. Shawls, parasols, and wide brimmed hats line one wall, while shoes, socks, and stockings line another. Behind a temporary wall in the far left corner is a small collection of corsets and under-liners. Near the front door is the sales desk, with glass showcase that displays costume jewelry made by Elian (50). Pottery goods sit on 2 shelves behind the desk. They include ash trays, bowls, dishes, decorative and standard mugs, and several wall hangings: sun, moon, “bless this home” plaque, etc.
The middle of the far wall contains a door to a small room in the back. Some of the women from town play cards here on Sundays at noon. They buy cookies, sandwiches, and tea, paying for the item by putting coins in a bowl on the tray.
