Dec 10-20? A confused or drunk Indian man speaks to Sarah Goodfield and visits Victor’s General Store. Sarah tells her friend Gretel, and they both head to town. Together with Victor and the Sheriff, they all go looking for the Indian but can’t find him anywhere.
Dec 15? Three broke strangers frequent the saloon for several days
Dec 23 Dr. Miller receives two shipments from “James and Blackwell Commemorative Hospital”: one for Dr. Benjamin Relgad and one for himself
Dec 26 Dr. Miller leaves town to “get supplies”. Should return Dec 29, but does not.
Dec 26 Victor’s mother takes ill
Jan 3 Victor’s mother dies
Jan 4 Sheriff sends a telegraph regarding the missing doctor
Jan ? Three broke stranger return to the saloon, now loaded with cash but mostly keep to themselves
Jan 14 Mary arrives in Williamstown
Jan 21 Frank Goodfield talks to Mary regarding his parent’s strange behavior
Jan 27 Mary treats a man (one of the strangers) with a compound fracture from a bar fight. He seems strangely calm and unaffected by the pain. After tonight, the strangers are not seen again.
Jan 27 Mary goes to talk to the Sheriff regarding the fight. The deputy tells her the Sheriff was taken by two other men to investigate “trouble at the Saloon.” She returns to the Saloon, but he is not and has not been there.
Jan 27 Mary heads back to the Sheriff and finds him walking into town by the North gate. He doesn’t seem to recognize her, but then just seems confused.
Jan 28 Mary talks to the Sheriff, and he seems better, but still somewhat ‘off’. She drafts, types and mails a letter to Betty (for delivery to the investigators)
Jan 29 Three new deputies arrive in town. They often leave at Sundown and return before Sunrise.
Feb 5 Investigators receive Mary’s letter
Feb 7 A large raven watches the investigators board the train in Bridgeport
Feb 12 A large raven watches the investigators board the carriage to Williamstown
Feb 12 Investigators arrive in Williamstown and are met by a scared Frank Goodfield who warns them that they should leave and begs them to take him with them when they do
Feb 12 Loghaire’s ranch hand cuts his leg badly while chopping wood, and seems confused. Meave Loghaire takes him to Mary, who is shocked that he survived the injury and massive bleeding
Feb 12 A large raven watches the investigators enter Mary’s (the doctor’s) home
Feb 13 Investigators find Miss Stephanie (school teacher) asleep with her hand on a copy of The Eclectic Reader and a bookmark inserted at page 91, Lesson XXX The Snow Dog and Boy. She suffers from exhaustion and anxiety. Nikoli sees and speaks with dead children in the classroom from various races and eras.
Feb 13 Investigators follow tracks that lead to a nearby woods, and a witch’s head shaped rock. Along the way they run into a large cougar, which Annie charms, but becomes agitated and runs off when they start approaching too near the rock
Feb 13 Deputies stop Annie on her way back to town and question her. One escorts her back to town
Feb 13 Deputy stops Elmer and Douglas on their way back to town and question them. He becomes agitated when they mention bringing researchers to the area, and especially the woods.
Feb 13 Annie plays cards with several towns women. Frank Goodfield shows up calm and happy to walk his mother home.
Feb 13 A large raven watches Annie enter the Women’s Emporium for card games.
Feb 13 Annie and Douglas chase a man they found exiting their rooms and subdue him in the stables at the end of the road. They dig a small rice shaped device out of his right forearm. When he awakes, he seems confused and can’t remember what he was doing. They convince him to get a room and walk him to the General Store. (Edison was strangely missing for 20-30 minutes while they were inside the stables, but then stumbled out from behind a hay bale, groggy.)
Feb 13 Victor says that the man who was supposed to rent a room instead said he needed directions to Easton, and where he could get a horse.
Feb 13 Men (lumberjacks) are leaving town and heading back to the lumber camp
Feb 13 Fight at the Diner between a husband, and a man who he believes his wife is cheating with. The woman is mad at the man for ‘standing her up’ and pretending to not know her. The man seems confused by terms like “sleeping with” and “duel”.
Feb 13 Annie takes the man to the Saloon and gets him tipsy. She stealthily discovers a small hole in his forearm and embedded “rice” thing. He leans in close to her, she sees a flash of light, and blacks out.
Feb 13 Investigators find Annie asleep at a table in the Saloon. They take her to Mary, and it takes almost an hour to awake her. She feels fine and remembers everything up to the “flash of light”.
Feb 14 Miss Stephanie has nervous breakdown, screaming about helping Simon Marshall and “all the blood”. Elizabeth agrees to take her by carriage to the Easton Hospital.
Feb 14 Victor is auditing the books, and doesn’t seem to remember a “breakfast date” with Annie, seeming very disinterested in her.
